Computers & Technology for Beginners

The Computers & Technology User group supports members in developing and improving their IT skills. Tim Renicar leads the sessions and topics to be covered will include:

  • How to navigate the Windows / Mac desktops, folders structure, how to download and install software etc
  • How to send an email (using e.g. Hotmail and Gmail) and examples of scam emails and how to deal with them
  • Simple Excel spreadsheets and use of functions
  • Tips and tricks to use for your PC (Windows) and software that can help you become more productive ( such as software to give Virus protection, play videos, audio and how to install it)
  • How to use Artificial Intelligence [AI] programs, such as DeepSeek, or ChatGpt and what they can do for you.
  • Making the most of your mobile phone
  • Social media platforms

The list could go on and on and we hope to be guided by your needs and interests.

All sessions will be held in St Annes Library. Due to space limitations it is necessary to pre-book your place with Tim, contact details above. The regular sessions will commence from July and there will be two sessions per month - on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The July sessions will focus on the use of the Internet. The specific times for July are: July 10, 10:30-12:30 and July 24, 2-4
