Membership of the u3a is open to anyone with time to spare. We have a self-help / shared learning ethos where members share their knowledge and learn from each other. Our membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December each year.
Taster Sessions
If you’re interested but still not sure, why not come along to one of our General Meetings, held on the 2nd Friday of each month. You’ll be welcomed by one of our volunteer Meeters and Greeters who’ll “show you the ropes” and answer any questions you may have. You can enjoy a tea or coffee while chatting with other members before relaxing back to listen to one of our interesting talks.
Alternatively, please contact our Groups Co-ordinator to arrange to come along to one of our Interest/Activity Groups. Some of our Groups meet in Member’s homes so taster sessions in these Groups is not available.
Once you become a member of our u3a you’ll receive a Membership Card giving you on-line access to all of our Interest/Activity Groups and membership benefits.
Photographs may be taken at LSA u3a and Group events and used for news and publicity purposes.

HOW TO JOIN
- If you are a current member, please renew via the members page and not this page.
- we do not have any access to your debit/credit card details and
- you DO NOT need to open a PayPal account for your payment to be processed.
- if you would prefer to pay via bank transfer, our bank details are on the new member application form that can be accessed here.

Alternatively, you can download the new member application form and post it to the address on the form with your cheque.
In Person
A further option is to join in person at one of our monthly speaker meetings.
Cost
Our membership runs from January to December. The annual fee is £15 with an initial joining fee of £8. If you are already a member of another u3a this joining fee does not apply.
New Members who join in October or November or December pay half price (£7.50) plus £8 joining fee
At the time of joining you are given the opportunity to subscribe to the national u3a TAT magazine, at a cost of £4 per annum.
