The group was started in 2014 and Margaret Haddock has been the group leader for the last 4 years or so. We’ve been studying online since the start of Covid and we’re all nicely settled into our weekly routine. The group works very hard and we absolutely LOVE doing homework. It’s very rare for anyone to miss a meeting (maybe it’s because they have to produce a letter from their mothers as to why they can’t attend), and holidays have been quite rare in the current circumstances, therefore our Spanish has improved immensely over this time. We don’t use textbooks as such, and the class is conducted mainly in the Spanish language. We like to focus on matters of individual interest, current news events, environmental issues, social issues, Spanish culture and anything else that takes our fancy. Of course, there are limits to the number of people who can join in online and as a result we are currently full. However, it would be very useful to know if anyone is interested in joining the group in the future. You will need to have a good working knowledge of Spanish to join at this level. A-level Spanish would be a great start, no matter when you first sat it, otherwise you will struggle.
If you’re interested in giving it a go, why not give me, Margaret, a call on: 01253 343292 – leave your name and contact number and I will ring you back. Hasta pronto,
Margaret (Haddock)
